Personal Care Assistant

Duties

• Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Support medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans under supervision
• Facilitate safe patient transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
• Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a respectful and caring environment
• Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through routine cleaning tasks and ensure infection control standards are met
• Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings using appropriate safety procedures
• Support residents with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, or developmental disabilities through personalized care strategies
• Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification, manual handling procedures, and resident rights policies

Experience

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care is highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to observe patients’ conditions closely and document changes accurately
• Experience with patient transfer techniques such as Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment
• Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and HIPAA compliance
• Knowledge of dementia care, memory care strategies, Alzheimer’s care, and neurodevelopmental disorders support is advantageous
• Background in providing personal transportation assistance and assisting with ADLs in a home or community setting
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary care teams

Pay: From $13.23 per hour
