Personal Care Assistant

Overview

This position is in our home on Martin Rd. We have a pet friendly home with two border collies and an indoor cat.

Duties

• Assist client with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence
• Assist client with daily exercises, treadmill and NuStep bicycle usage.
• Support residents with mobility and transfers using manual handling techniques and cueing.
• Monitor client's daily activities, observing any changes in condition.
• Continually engaging client in conversation and brain games.
• Prepare meals and tend to client while eating.
• Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
• Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring a safe environment for clients

Skills

• Proven experience working in group home settings, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes with a focus on geriatrics or disability support
• Strong knowledge of patient observation, and recognizing signs of distress or deterioration
• Ability to assist with complex patient needs including medication administration, first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures
• Experience working independently, with minimal supervision - and stay focused and on task with cleint's needs.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting residents’ rights
• Competence in manual handling techniques, heavy lifting when necessary, and ensuring safety during patient transfers

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20.0 per week
