Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and dignity.
Support residents with mobility and transfers using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both clients and yourself.
Monitor patients’ vital signs, observe for changes in health status, and report findings accurately to healthcare professionals to support effective care plans.
Help with medication administration following HIPAA regulations and prescribed schedules to maintain medication safety.
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
Provide companionship, emotional support, and effective communication to foster trust and enhance residents’ quality of life.

Requirements
Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities is advantageous.
Ability to observe patients carefully for changes in condition or behavior and document findings accurately.
Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other manual handling techniques is essential for ensuring safety during mobility assistance.
CPR and First Aid certification are required; ongoing training in patient monitoring, HIPAA compliance, and resident rights is expected.
Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities supports a versatile caregiving approach.
Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams are vital.
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with assisting residents with personal transportation or mobility needs.
