Personal Care Assistant (PCA) / Teaching Assistant (TA)

Location: Cranston, RI We are seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) / Teaching Assistant (TAs) to support students in an elementary school setting in Cranston, RI. This is a classroom-based position working with students in special education who may have behavioral and individualized support needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and classroom support to students in special education.
• Assist students with behavioral, academic, and daily classroom needs.
• Implement behavior support and redirection strategies as needed.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and other school professionals.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday during standard school hours.
• Start times typically range from 7:00 AM–8:30 AM.
• End times typically range from 2:30 PM–3:45 PM.
• Placement may be available at various elementary schools throughout Cranston.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or students with behavioral needs preferred.
• School-based, special education, PCA, paraprofessional, or behavioral health experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to complete required background clearances and health requirements.
• CPR certification and applicable credentials/licensure required prior to starting.
