Personal Care Attendant

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts.
• Monitor and observe patients’ health status by recording vital signs, noting changes in condition, and maintaining detailed care plans aligned with healthcare standards..
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia requiring memory care.
• Maintain a clean environment by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in homecare environments is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely, monitor vital signs, and recognize signs of distress or deterioration.
• Knowledge of patient care procedures including first aid, CPR certification, and HIPAA compliance.
• Ability to assist with ADLs using proper manual handling techniques such as heavy lifting and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with care teams.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
