Personal Sitting/Aide

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe health status to ensure safety and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns promptly.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring proper food safety standards.
• Support clients with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and safety.
• Provide companionship and emotional support while maintaining respectful communication that upholds residents’ rights and dignity.
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment to promote overall health.
• Support clients during transportation for medical appointments or community outings using appropriate personal transportation assistance methods.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration accurately.
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or manual handling are advantageous.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks while ensuring client safety during transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration; familiarity with care plans and resident’s rights is essential.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed.
