Personal Support Worker

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines and protocols
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental health and reduce feelings of loneliness
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
• Help clients with mobility exercises or transfers to ensure safety during movement
• Monitor and report any changes in health status or behavior to healthcare professionals or family members

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable
• Demonstrated experience caring for seniors or individuals with disabilities, including dementia care
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
• Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and patient approach
• Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation efficiently
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
• Certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates
