Personal Support Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various care settings. Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and dignity
• Support clients with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety for both the client and yourself
• Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate documentation of all medication-related activities
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper food handling and hygiene standards
• Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness and enhance mental well-being
• Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning client living areas, laundry, and maintaining a tidy environment
• Observe and report any changes in clients’ health or behavior promptly to supervising healthcare staff

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Personal Support Worker or in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly preferred
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those living with dementia is advantageous
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols is required
• Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude
• Ability to perform cleaning tasks and meal preparation efficiently while adhering to hygiene standards
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Valid certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent credential is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if needed

Pay: $17.87-$29.19 per hour
