Personal Support Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Spanish speaking Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in various care settings. Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring respectful and dignified care
• Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and safety
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
• Utilize manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe mobility and prevent injury
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining infection control standards
• Support clients with cognitive impairments like dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing specialized memory care strategies and engaging them in meaningful activities
• Assist with hospice or palliative care needs by providing compassionate support aligned with care plans and resident rights
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care and address individual needs

Qualifications

NEED TO SPEAK SPANISH FLUENTLY

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication reminder.
• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, neurodevelopmental disorders, or intellectual disabilities is advantageous
• Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory support strategies, and hospice care practices is desirable
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration while respecting residents’ rights and privacy under HIPAA guidelines
• Valid certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications in geriatrics or social work are a plus
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate caregiving while maintaining professionalism in diverse settings

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
