Personal Support Worker

Job Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our care team at a retirement home in Hamilton. The successful candidate will provide personal care and daily assistance to residents in a respectful, safe, and professional manner, helping to support their comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Observe, report, and document changes in residents’ condition to the supervisor
• Ensure residents’ safety and comfort at all times
• Assist with light housekeeping duties within the facility
• Perform laundry duties for residents, including washing, drying, and folding
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment
• Follow all care plans, policies, and health & safety procedures
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and staff

Requirements

• Valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate
• First Aid & CPR Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check (current or willing to obtain)
• ORCA Training (current or willing to complete)
• Previous experience in a retirement home or long-term care setting is an asset
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Reliable, compassionate, and professional attitude
