Personal Support Worker

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team in a casual role to provide compassionate care to individuals in our Sarnia-Lambton community. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping others and be committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they support.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, socialization.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Perform heavy lifting as required to assist clients with mobility and transfers.
• Maintain a clean and safe living space for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and hygienic.
• Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
• Support clients with dementia care, hospice care, or other specialized needs as required.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and physical health.

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in caregiving, nursing home settings, home care, or senior care is required.
• Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
• Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia care and hospice care principles.
• Valid driver's license, insurance and a reliable vehicle

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
