Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Job Overview

Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
• Support clients with mobility exercises and encourage participation in recreational activities
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning living spaces to maintain hygiene standards
• Monitor health status, report changes, and document care provided diligently
• Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to promote mental well-being

Requirements

• Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly preferred
• Prior work with seniors or individuals with disabilities demonstrating patience and empathy
• Knowledge of dementia care techniques and managing behavioral challenges associated with dementia or cognitive impairments
• Ability to administer medications safely and follow healthcare protocols precisely
• Strong caregiving skills complemented by excellent communication abilities
• Capable of performing light cleaning and meal preparation tasks efficiently
• Valid certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent is required where applicable
• Experience working with individuals with special needs or in home care settings is advantageous

Pay: $17.86-$29.18 per hour
