Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Location: Downtown Toronto (Bloor & Davenport Area)

Job Summary

Carelee Health Technologies Inc. is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide in-home support for an 88-year-old female client with hearing difficulties. The client requires assistance with personal care, mobility, transfers, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light household support. The client also has hearing difficulties and uses a hearing aid. This assignment is ideal for a caregiver seeking a consistent, long-term client.

Schedule

The assignment requires two daily visits, including:

• Morning Visit: Approximately 8:00 AM (1 to 3 hours)
• Evening Visit: Approximately 7:30 PM (1 to 2 hours)
• Approximately 22 to 28 hours per week

Carelee operates on a flexible care model. The duration of each shift depends on the client's needs.

Employment Structure

• Casual position.
• Start Date: Monday, October 5, 2026.
• The successful candidate is expected to cover the first 7 days.
• A second PSW may be assigned from Week 2, allowing the schedule to be shared.
• Additional client assignments may be offered based on performance, increasing total hours up to approximately 44 hours per week.

Travel

• No mileage reimbursement is provided for this assignment due to the client's downtown Toronto location and direct TTC access.
• Applicants must be able to travel reliably to both daily visits by TTC or personal vehicle.
• Free parking is available near the client's building for caregivers using their own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, face washing, toileting, brief (diaper) changes, bathing assistance, changing into nightwear, and bedtime preparation.
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility support, walker use, wheelchair positioning, and support-pole-assisted movement.
• Monitor skin condition; report any redness, irritation or rash.
• Prepare light meals and beverages according to the care plan.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor medication supplies.
• Complete light housekeeping duties, including bed making, laundry, garbage disposal, recycling, and maintaining a safe environment.
• Provide occasional grocery shopping and household support as required.
• Complete all required documentation using Carelee's mobile care management and time-tracking systems.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an Ontario-recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Functional English communication skills for documentation and client interaction.
• Physical capacity to perform personal care, mobility assistance, and household support tasks.
• Travel within assigned service areas using public transit or a personal vehicle.
• Smartphone with data for accessing schedules, documenting care tasks, and completing shift check‑in/out through mobile software.
• Consistent reliability, punctuality, and commitment to scheduled assignments.
• Valid SIN and Eligibility to work in Canada.

Assets

Carelee welcomes applications from new PSW graduates and experienced caregivers. The following qualifications are helpful assets that can enhance an application, but are not mandatory:

• Experience supporting seniors in a home care setting.
• Experience with mobility assistance, transfers, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Experience with support-pole-assisted transfers.
• Experience supporting clients with hearing impairments.
• Experience working with seniors who have strong personal preferences or challenging behaviours while maintaining patience and professionalism.
• Experience using home care mobile care applications.

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 22.0 – 28.0 per week
