Personal Support Worker Weekend Only

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various care settings. Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
• Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, patient behavior, and overall condition; report changes promptly
• Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
• Use manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and repositioning
• Maintain accurate care plans, documentation, and logs related to patient progress, medication administration, and incident reports
• Provide personal transportation assistance for appointments or community outings while ensuring safety at all times

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care is highly desirable
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care including Alzheimer’s and memory care strategies, and hospice or home health experience preferred
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as Hoyer lift training or medication administration are a plus
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of client information
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, assist with patient transfer methods, and handle manual handling tasks effectively
• Strong communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and documentation accuracy
• Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or autism is advantageous
