About Central Rock Gym

Central Rock Gym isn’t just a climbing gym — it’s a community-powered space where confidence is built, limits are challenged, and everyone is welcome. From first-time climbers nervously tying in to seasoned athletes projecting hard routes, CRG is a place where people come to grow — physically, mentally, and socially.

Our gyms are vibrant, high-energy environments that combine world-class climbing with fitness, youth programs, and a strong sense of belonging. What truly sets us apart isn’t just the walls — it’s the people who create the experience every day.

Summary:
The Personal Training Instructor is responsible for providing individualized fitness coaching that supports member goals, promotes safe and effective exercise practices, and enhances the overall Central Rock Gym experience. This role designs and delivers tailored training sessions, maintains a welcoming and inclusive environment, and collaborates with gym management to support scheduling, client engagement, and program awareness.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored training sessions aligned to client goals and ability levels.
  • Communicate and coordinate session schedules with gym management.
  • Assist with client bookings and rosters in Rock Gym Pro.
  • Partner with management to market offerings via CRG’s website, social media, and in-gym channels—and actively self-promote to grow your client base and expand offerings.
  • Create an inclusive, motivating environment that supports participants of all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Prepare and reset the training area before and after sessions; ensure equipment is wiped down and stored properly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Flexible schedule, including potential early mornings/evenings/weekends.
  • 2+ years of teaching/coaching experience or a 200-hour certification from an accredited school/training program.
  • Knowledge of current fitness methodologies and coaching best practices (plus).
  • Friendly, approachable, and client-focused demeanor.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Climbing-specific knowledge is helpful but not required.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, preferred.
