The Pest Detective is a locally owned, family-operated pest management company proudly serving Northeast Arkansas. We believe our employees are our greatest investment, and we’re committed to providing a workplace built on integrity, respect, teamwork, and opportunity.

We’re looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who enjoy working independently, solving problems, helping others, and delivering exceptional customer service. Whether you’re an experienced pest control professional or ready to begin a rewarding new career, we’ll provide the training, tools, and ongoing support you need to succeed.

No pest control experience? No problem! We provide 40 hours of paid, hands-on training, cover the cost of your state licensing and certification, and continue coaching you throughout your introductory period.

Already licensed? You may qualify for a higher starting wage based on your experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Do

As a Pest Control Technician, you’ll play an important role in protecting homes and businesses while providing customers with dependable, professional service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting residential and commercial properties for signs of pest activity and identifying treatment needs.
  • Safely applying pesticides and pest management products in accordance with company procedures and state regulations.
  • Performing pest, termite, mosquito, and rodent treatments using hand tools, ladders, and other equipment.
  • Educating customers about treatment plans, prevention strategies, and recommended services.
  • Completing accurate electronic service reports and maintaining detailed treatment records.
  • Operating and maintaining a clean, organized company vehicle.
  • Following all company safety policies and maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Providing outstanding customer service while representing The Pest Detective with integrity and professionalism.
  • Identifying opportunities to recommend additional services that benefit the customer.

What We’re Looking For

We’re willing to train the right person—prior pest control experience is not required.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • The ability to learn quickly and apply new skills in the field.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance.
  • The ability to adapt to changing situations and solve problems independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • The physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • The ability to work in crawl spaces, attics, and on ladders when necessary.
  • Comfort working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • The ability to safely operate tools and equipment after training.
  • The ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Three professional references from current or former supervisors, managers, or employers.

Preferred, but Not Required

  • A current Arkansas Pest Control License—higher starting pay is available.
  • Previous pest control experience or familiarity with common household pests and pesticide applications.
  • Experience in construction, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, landscaping, agriculture, lawn care, or another skilled trade.
  • Familiarity with residential construction, home systems, crawl spaces, or home repair.

Compensation and Benefits

We value dependable employees and provide the training, equipment, and opportunities needed to grow:

  • $15.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • 40 hours of paid, hands-on training.
  • Paid state licensing and certification.
  • 10% commission on approved upsold services.
  • Regular performance bonuses.
  • Quarterly incentive opportunities.
  • Holiday pay, including time-and-a-half for holidays worked.
  • Overtime opportunities.
  • Company vehicle during work hours.
  • Company uniforms, equipment, and tools provided.
  • Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no overnight travel.
