Job Overview

Bark and Purr Pet Grooming & Boarding is Allen's premier pet wellness destination, and we're a certified Fear-Free grooming salon. Our bathers are the foundation of every great groom, we're looking for someone with a calm, caring hand who takes real pride in getting every pet table-ready and comfortable before they ever reach the groomer's table. No prior professional bathing experience required, we train you on our process; what matters is how you handle a nervous pet and how reliable you are.

What you'll do

• Bathe, dry, and brush each pet to a table-ready standard using our breed-appropriate, Bark and Purr-approved process, and perform hygiene services (nails, ears, teeth).

• Perform pre-bath coat evaluations and flag mats, skin issues, or anything unusual to the assigned groomer.

• Watch for Fear, Anxiety & Stress (FAS) signals and respond per Fear-Free protocol; never leave a pet unattended on the table, in the tub, or under a dryer.

• Keep a bathed, dried, ready dog waiting for your groomer so nobody stands around, timing and pacing matter here.

• Log your work in Compass (our shop system) as you go, this is how the whole team stays coordinated and how your own progress gets tracked.

• Sanitize tubs, tables, and tools between every pet, restock supplies, and help keep the bathing room clean and calm.

• Help care for boarding pets in your charge, walked, watered, and comfortable.

What we're looking for

• A genuine love for animals and a calm, caring presence around anxious pets.

• Comfortable working in a wet, humid environment; able to stand for extended periods and safely lift and handle dogs of varying sizes.

• Manual dexterity for nail trimming, ear cleaning, and brushing.

• Reliable and punctual, our schedule depends on every bather showing up on time.

• Fear-Free certification is company-sponsored, no prior certification required.
