Duties

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing tailored to each pet’s breed and individual needs
• Handle animals with care, ensuring their safety and comfort through proper restraint techniques
• Assess each pet’s health and behavior, alerting veterinary staff if any concerns arise during grooming
• Maintain a clean, organized grooming area, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use
• Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
• Assist with animal handling duties such as dog training, animal restraint, and general pet care when needed
• Support other team members with kennel duties or pet sitting tasks to ensure a seamless experience for all animals

Skills

• Strong knowledge of pet grooming techniques for various breeds and coat types
• Experience in dog handling, animal handling, or pet sitting to ensure safe interactions with pets of all temperaments
• Background in veterinary experience or veterinary technician/assistant roles is highly desirable for understanding animal health signals
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move animals or equipment safely
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and address their concerns confidently
• Familiarity with animal restraint methods to keep pets calm and secure during grooming procedures
• Basic knowledge of dog training, veterinary care practices, and kennel experience is a plus for providing comprehensive pet care

Pay: $23.52 - $28.32 per hour
