Pet Store Attendant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Store Attendant to join the team at DAVA0 ANIMAL CENTRAL PET SUPPLIES. This is a full-time position based in Obrero, Davao City, Davao del Sur. As a Pet Store Attendant, you will be the face of our business, providing exceptional customer service whilst maintaining our store to the highest standards. This role is essential to creating a welcoming environment for both our customers and their beloved pets, ensuring a positive shopping experience that keeps customers returning.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting customers upon arrival and providing knowledgeable, friendly assistance with product selection and pet care advice
• Operating the till and processing transactions accurately and efficiently, including handling cash and card payments
• Restocking shelves and displays with pet products, maintaining proper organisation and ensuring products are well-presented
• Monitoring stock levels and alerting management when items need reordering or when stock is running low
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic store environment, including tidying displays, sweeping, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
• Assisting with animal care duties as required, including feeding, watering and general welfare of animals in the store
• Handling customer enquiries and complaints professionally, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction
• Supporting the setup and maintenance of window displays and promotional materials
• Identifying opportunities to upsell complementary products and maximising sales where appropriate
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and management to achieve store targets and objectives

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in retail or a customer-facing role, preferably in a pet store or animal-related environment
• A genuine passion for animals and pet care, with a sound understanding of various pet species and their needs
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build positive relationships with customers
• Strong cash handling experience and familiarity with till systems and point-of-sale equipment
• Physical capability to lift and carry stock, including bags of pet food and other products
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a clean, organised and presentable store environment
• Reliability and punctuality, with a flexible approach to working patterns as required by the business
• A team player mentality with the ability to work effectively alongside colleagues
• Basic numeracy skills to process transactions accurately
• Preferably, knowledge of pet products, nutritional requirements and general pet welfare
