Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance on pet products, supplies, and accessories
• Operate the cash register (POS system), handle retail sales transactions accurately, and manage cash drawer operations with integrity
• Conduct product demonstrations and educate customers on product features and benefits to encourage upselling opportunities
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is clean, inviting, and well-merchandised
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments and stocking new items efficiently
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and friendliness
• Support product demos and promotional events to enhance customer engagement and sales

Requirements

• Previous retail sales experience, especially in pet or specialty stores, is preferred but not required; supervisory experience is a plus
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, retail math, and cash handling procedures
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory counts
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive interactions
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and stock management practices
• Enthusiasm for animals and willingness to learn about pet care products and services

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
