Pharma Assistant

Role Overview

• Job Title: Certified Pharmacy Assistant
• Reports To: Managing Pharmacist
• Work Setting: Community pharmacies, retail drugstores, or hospitals

Key Responsibilities

• Dispensing Support: Accurately count, measure, and package medications for final pharmacist check.
• Customer Care: Greet customers, answer non-clinical inquiries, and help locate over-the-counter products.
• Prescription Intake: Receive new prescriptions, enter patient data into computer systems, and print labels.
• Inventory Control: Restock shelves, track expiration dates, and remove expired or damaged stock.
• Cashiering: Operate the cash register, process sales transactions, and handle insurance or billing paperwork.
• Clinical Boundary: Always defer medical or dosage advice questions to the licensed pharmacist.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certification: Completion of an accredited vocational course or training program resulting in a Certificate in Pharmacy Services or NCII.
• Education: High school diploma or relevant technical-vocational credits.
• Skills: Basic computer literacy, strong communication, math skills, and high attention to detail
