THE CHINESE MEDICINE HOSPITAL OF HONG KONG

The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) is a flagship Chinese medicine (CM) institution leading the development of CM in Hong Kong. Controlled by the Health Bureau and operated under a public-private partnership model, CMHHK was financed by the HKSAR Government, which selected Hong Kong Baptist University as the contractor through tendering procedures in 2021. HKBU incorporated the HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited as the operator to manage, operate and maintain the hospital.

Since commencing phased services in December 2025, CMHHK offers comprehensive CM care ranging from primary, secondary to tertiary services, and promotes advanced and specialised CM treatments. As a pioneer in integrated Chinese-western medicine (ICWM), CMHHK addresses diverse patient needs through inpatient, day-patient, outpatient and community-based services. With 65% of services government-subsidised and the remainder market-oriented, the hospital ensures accessible healthcare while meeting the diverse needs of the community.

Pharmacist (26114)

Responsibilities:

• Perform drug distribution functions including prescription verification, checking and drug issuing to patients and ensure medication safety;
• Deliver clinical pharmacy services such as medication reconciliation, therapeutic drug monitoring and patient drug education;
• Assist Senior Pharmacist in the maintenance of procedures, protocols and formulary;
• Participate in quality improvement projects, audits and medication-use evaluations; and
• Work in shifts and support emergency response services.

Requirements:

• Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent or above awarded by institutions recognized by the Pharmacy & Poisons Board of Hong Kong;
• Holder of a Certificate of Registration and a valid Practicing Certificate issued by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong;
• Holder of a postgraduate degree in relevant discipline is preferable;
• At least 4 years’ post-registration experience* as a pharmacist OR 2 years’ post-registration experience* as a pharmacist plus a relevant postgraduate professional degree or equivalent;
• Experience in hospital / clinic pharmacy practice is preferable; and
• Good communication and computer skills.

*Experience acquired as a pharmacist after registration with recognized overseas registration authorities but prior to registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong can also be accepted as post-registration experience.

Work location: The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong in Tseung Kwan O.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
