Pharmacist

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescription medications and medical devices.
• Deliver clinical pharmacy services, consultations, and patient health checks (e.g., Pharmacy First, travel health, flu vaccinations, hypertension screening).
• Provide expert advisory services to patients on medication usage, potential interactions, and general health management.
• Ensure compliance with GPhC standards, clinical governance, and legal requirements.
• Maintain effective inventory controls, controlled drug register management, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Lead and mentor dispensing assistants and pharmacy technicians to foster a supportive, professional team environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm or equivalent).
• Registration: Active, unencumbered registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Strong clinical knowledge and familiarity with NHS/private pharmacy services.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
• Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification is an advantage, but not essential.
