Job Description

Mercy Hospital Pothy is looking for a qualified and responsible Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, monitoring medicine supplies, maintaining pharmacy records, ensuring medication safety, and supporting the smooth functioning of pharmacy operations in accordance with applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate should have good pharmaceutical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and quality healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and safely in accordance with prescriptions and applicable regulations.
• Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of medicines and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of medicines, including controlled substances, as required by law.
• Identify and remove expired, damaged, or unsuitable medicines from inventory.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and quality control of medications.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of pharmacy technicians and other support staff, where applicable.
• Monitor medication inventory and assist in stock audits and reconciliation.
• Provide appropriate medication-related information and guidance to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain updated knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, licensing requirements, and relevant legislation.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, safety standards, and applicable healthcare regulations.
• Coordinate with the medical and nursing teams to support safe and effective medication use.

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Pharm or Pharm.D from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council, as applicable.
• Good knowledge of medicines, drug interactions, dosage forms, and prescription handling.
• Familiarity with pharmacy inventory management and record-keeping.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to patient safety, professional ethics, and confidentiality.
