What they need

Pharmacist – Garrett Pharmacy, Chester

£50,000–£55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Monday–Friday | 9:00am–5:30pm | No Weekends

A pharmacist role with the team and support to help you focus on clinical care.

Are you a motivated pharmacist who enjoys delivering clinical services but often finds yourself tied up with the demands of the dispensary?

At Garrett Pharmacy, we're looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and clinically confident pharmacist to join our established community pharmacy in Blacon, Chester.

Unlike many busy community pharmacies, we already have a fully staffed, experienced and capable team managing the day-to-day dispensing operations.

We're now looking for someone who can build on that foundation by taking the lead in delivering, developing and growing our NHS and private clinical services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who wants to do more than simply manage prescriptions – someone who enjoys patient consultations, takes initiative and wants to make a genuine difference.

Why Garrett Pharmacy?

A strong support team already in place

You'll be working alongside:

  • 1 trainee pharmacy technician / manager
  • 2.5 full-time equivalent dispensers
  • 2 dedicated counter staff

Our team is fully trained, experienced and confident in their respective roles, allowing you to focus more of your attention on clinical services and professional responsibilities.

Technology and systems that support your workflow

We have an established prescription delivery service and a Servilocker automated prescription collection facility, helping streamline prescription collection and reduce unnecessary pressure on the pharmacy team.

An opportunity to lead clinical services

We already provide a range of NHS and private pharmacy services. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of service delivery, identify opportunities for growth and encourage the wider team to support service development.

A genuine work-life balance

Enjoy a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule, 9am–5:30pm, with no weekend commitments.

An independent pharmacy where your contribution matters

We value pharmacists who bring ideas, show initiative and take pride in improving the services we provide to our local community.

What you'll be doing

  • Delivering and actively developing NHS and private clinical services, including Pharmacy First, NMS, hypertension case-finding and other commissioned services.
  • Taking a proactive approach to identifying eligible patients and increasing appropriate service uptake.
  • Building strong relationships with patients, local GP practices and other healthcare professionals.
  • Working closely with the pharmacy team to promote services and improve patient access.
  • Providing high-quality clinical consultations, advice and medicines optimisation.
  • Maintaining safe and effective pharmacy operations and professional standards.
  • Identifying opportunities to introduce or expand services that benefit patients and the pharmacy.

Who we're looking for

We're particularly interested in a pharmacist who is:

  • Proactive and commercially aware – someone who understands the importance of growing clinical services while maintaining excellent patient care.
  • Confident in consultations – comfortable delivering NHS services and engaging patients in meaningful clinical conversations.
  • A strong team player and leader – able to motivate and work effectively with an established team.
  • Organised and self-motivated – someone who takes initiative without needing constant direction.
  • Passionate about community pharmacy – keen to embrace the evolving clinical role of pharmacists.

Essential requirement: You must be GPhC-registered and qualified to practise as a pharmacist in the UK.

Previous experience in clinical service delivery is desirable, although pharmacists with the right motivation and willingness to develop are encouraged to apply.
