Pharmacist

Job Title: Pharmacist Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing medications for final dispensing to patients, including tasks such as filling, order entry, and packaging. The pharmacist will review completed orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure prescriptions are filled correctly, verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug, and interpret prescription orders while considering patient safety and legal limitations. Adherence to all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations and applicable guidelines for compounding is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications for final dispensing to patients.
• Review completed orders and cycle-fill medications.
• Verify legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing drugs.
• Interpret prescription orders with professional judgment.
• Adhere to Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Follow guidelines for compounding.
• Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies as needed.
• Answer questions from patients, doctors, and nurses.
• Evaluate inventory levels and place orders when below par.
• Find cost-effective products for exception items.
• Notify customers/facilities if products are out of stock.
• Restock station supplies as needed.
• Oversee the work of technicians and provide feedback.
• Log all error medication occurrences.

Essential Skills

• Registered pharmacist in the State of Iowa or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) in Iowa.
• High attention to detail and high volume script filling.
• Customer service and inventory management.
• Knowledge of compounding and pharmacology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
• State of Iowa Pharmacist License required without restrictions.
• If not licensed in Iowa, must pass the Iowa Law Exam with the State of Iowa Pharmacy board.

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $135000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
