About the Role
We're looking for a patient-focused Pharmacist to join our independent community pharmacy team in Ontario. You'll be the trusted, accessible healthcare provider in our neighbourhood — dispensing safely, delivering expanded-scope clinical services, and building lasting relationships with patients, local prescribers and the community. If you enjoy front-line patient care in a busy, supportive retail setting, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Accurately check and dispense prescriptions in Kroll in compliance with the Pharmacy Act, DPRA, OCP Standards of Practice and federal/provincial legislation
- Counsel patients on new and refill prescriptions, OTC products and natural health products
- Deliver professional services: MedsCheck reviews, Pharmaceutical Opinions, renewals and adaptations, and assessing and prescribing for minor ailments
- Administer injections and vaccinations (publicly funded flu and COVID-19 vaccines, travel and other vaccines)
- Bill and adjudicate claims accurately with the Ontario Drug Benefit program and private third-party insurers
- Manage compliance packaging (blister packs), methadone/OAT dispensing where applicable, and narcotic and controlled-substance records and counts
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners and other prescribers to resolve drug therapy problems
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, assistants and students; foster a positive, efficient workflow
- Support inventory, ordering, returns and daily pharmacy operations
- Help grow the pharmacy through excellent service, patient follow-ups and community health initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Registered pharmacist in good standing on Part A of the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
- Authorized to administer injections (required) and current CPR/First Aid certification
- Community pharmacy experience (preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply)
- Proficiency with Kroll (strongly preferred)
- Strong clinical knowledge and confidence delivering expanded-scope services, including minor ailments prescribing
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; additional languages are an asset
- Accuracy and good judgment in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Team player with leadership qualities and a positive, professional attitude
Why Join Us
- Competitive pay
- Supportive, team-oriented work environment with experienced pharmacy staff and technicians
- Opportunity to practise to your full scope and make a real difference in patients' lives
We thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Accommodations are available upon request for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process, in accordance with the AODA.
Pay: From $60.00 per hour
