Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Ensure all pharmacy operations adhere strictly to state and federal pharmacy laws, HIPAA regulations, USP 797 standards for sterile compounding, and other relevant pharmaceutical regulatory policies.
• Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications using aseptic techniques and managing inventory to meet patient needs effectively.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to optimize medication therapy, including pediatrics, acute care, pain management, and long-term care (LTC) settings.
• Administer immunizations and provide patient education on medication administration, drug regulation updates, and healthcare compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation within Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and ensure clinical confidentiality policies are upheld at all times.
• Monitor pharmacy operations for safety and efficiency, implementing improvements in inventory management, drug regulation compliance, and pharmacy workflow processes.
• Stay current with evolving healthcare regulations, practicing as a pharmacist with integrity while ensuring all staff adhere to clinical confidentiality policies.

Skills

• Extensive experience in clinical pharmacy practice with a strong background in critical care, hospital environments, or community pharmacies.
• Proven leadership skills managing pharmacy teams across diverse healthcare settings including LTC pharmacies.
• Deep knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology principles, and medical terminology essential for effective patient care.
• Proficiency with Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), EMR systems, EHR systems, and pharmacy software platforms.
• Skilled in medication compounding using aseptic techniques; experienced with IV infusion/insertion procedures and IV infusion management.
• Strong understanding of drug regulation laws at both state and federal levels; committed to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
• Ability to perform patient assessments accurately; experienced in immunizations and medication administration protocols.
• Excellent customer service skills combined with effective client communication to enhance patient satisfaction.
• Familiarity with HIPAA privacy standards; adept at managing medical management tasks related to pain management and acute care scenarios.
• Knowledgeable about USP 797 standards for sterile preparations; experienced in inventory management within high-volume pharmacy settings.

Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour
