Job Description Summary
We seek a dedicated and knowledgeable pharmacist to join our retail pharmacy and medical supply team, which has been open for over 42 years. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients' safe and effective use of medications. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As a Pharmacist, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.

Duties

· Part-time position currently requires 20-30hrs/wk.

• Pharmacist in charge
• Review and interpret physician prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy.
• Must be able to do compounding.
• Provide medication counseling and education to patients on proper usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
• Monitor patient medication therapies for efficacy, safety, and adherence.
• Maintain accurate records of medications dispensed and manage inventory effectively.
• Utilize pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and patient management.
• Implement aseptic techniques in compounding sterile preparations as required.
• Participate in clinical pharmacy initiatives, including medication therapy management and health screenings.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management strategies to enhance patient care.
• Stay current with advancements in pharmacotherapy, anatomy, physiology, and relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid pharmacist license in the state of practice.
• Completion of a pharmacy residency is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, clinical pharmacy practices, and medication administration.
• Proficiency in pharmacy software systems for efficient workflow management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with experience in inventory management.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
