Pharmacist - Part Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Part-Time Pharmacist to join our team at a busy retail pharmacy in Staten Island, NY. This position offers 16 hours per week with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Position Details

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Counsel patients on medication use, dosage, potential side effects, and drug interactions
• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness
• Collaborate with prescribers and healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure smooth workflow
• Maintain patient medication records and ensure confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
• Process insurance claims and resolve third-party billing issues
• Perform medication reconciliation and provide immunization services as needed
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and ensure proper storage of medications
• Adhere to all company policies, pharmacy laws, and professional standards

Qualifications & Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution
• Active and unrestricted New York State Pharmacist License (required)
• Immunization certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Retail or community pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of brand/generic medications, drug interactions, and insurance processes
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency with PRIME RX

Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
