PHARMACY ASSISTANT

Assist with medication preparation, packing and labelling under authorised supervision.

Check patient details and prepared medication against prescriptions, referring discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist or doctor.

Explain approved medication instructions and refer clinical questions to qualified personnel.

Provide general health education and approved information on nutrition and supplements within training and competence.

Receive medication deliveries and check quantities, condition and expiry dates against purchase orders and invoices.

Maintain accurate stock records and assist with regular stock counts.

Monitor stock levels and prepare replenishment requests.

Rotate stock using the first-expiry, first-out method and separate expired, damaged or recalled items.

Store medications correctly and record storage temperatures where required.

Maintain a clean, organised medication preparation area and clearly labelled shelves.

Assist with medication billing, invoices and supporting documentation.

Report medication errors, stock discrepancies and storage concerns promptly.

Coordinate with doctors, nurses and other staff to support timely medication supply.

Protect patient confidentiality and maintain accurate records.

Perform other reasonable pharmacy support duties assigned within training and role scope.

• Preferably candidates with minimum 1 year experience working full - time in healthcare.
• Brownie points for candidates familiar with orthopaedic and GP medication.
