Pharmacy Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, packing, labeling, and dispensing medications accurately.
• Receive, inspect, and store pharmaceutical supplies according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor medication stock levels, expiry dates, and ensure proper stock rotation (FEFO).
• Assist in ordering, receiving, and stock reconciliation activities.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of the pharmacy area.
• Assist in ward supply, unit dose preparation, and medication distribution.
• Comply with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist or Head of Pharmacy.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Qualification:

  • Diploma in Pharmacy / Diploma in Health Sciences or related field

• Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of working experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare facility is required

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication handling
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Computer literate
