Pharmacy Assistant

Our small independent pharmacy is searching for an energetic and willing to learn individual to join our team. The ability to multi-task is a MUST! An ideal candidate will emphasize creating a positive, memorable, and emotionally connected customer experience going beyond simply completing a quick transaction. Will work closely with pharmacists, technicians and customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers
• Files and retrieves various pharmacy records as required
• Operate the cash register and related front counter tasks
• Maintains assigned work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
• Handles phone calls to/from customers regarding refills, request refill authorizations
• All general phone calls from customers, providers and suppliers
• Counts solid dosage forms and pour liquid dosage forms from stock bottles along with filling stock creams into appropriate dispensing containers for individual prescriptions*.*
• May generate a label for refill prescriptions only where there is no change in the prescription.
• Receive shipments
• Meet our deadline for mailing prescriptions
• Assist with maintaining stock levels

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent , GED
• Prefer a current Pharmacy Assistant License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
