Pharmacy Dispenser

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Pharmacy Dispenser to join our friendly community pharmacy team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate must have previous community pharmacy dispensing experience, relevant dispensing qualifications, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a busy pharmacy environment.

A key responsibility will be the preparation and management of monitored dosage systems (MDS) and compliance packs for our community patients. Experience in managing these services is essential.

Duties

Dispense NHS and private prescriptions accurately and efficiently.

• Prepare, assemble and manage monitored dosage systems (MDS) and compliance packs.
• Maintain accurate patient medication records and dispensing documentation.
• Assist with ordering, receiving and maintaining pharmacy stock.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Support the safe and efficient day-to-day running of the pharmacy.
• Follow all relevant SOPs, professional standards and legal requirements.
• Work effectively as part of a team while maintaining confidentiality and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a pharmacy dispenser in a community pharmacy.
• A recognised pharmacy dispensing qualification, such as an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Practical experience preparing and managing monitored dosage systems/compliance packs.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient safety.
• Good communication, organisational and time-management skills.
• A professional, dependable and patient-focused approach.
