Pharmacy Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
• Monitor and manage pharmaceutical inventory to ensure availability and minimize wastage or shortages.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to optimize pharmacotherapy outcomes and promote patient safety.
• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with regulatory and quality assurance guidelines.
• Review and update pharmacy policies, keeping current with healthcare regulations and advancements.
• Supervise and train pharmacy staff including pharmacists, technicians, and assistants.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management activities.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, transactions, and inventory logs.
• Assist in budgeting, procurement, and vendor negotiations for pharmaceutical supplies.
• Provide support for patient counseling and drug information dissemination when needed.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / M.Pharm or equivalent).
• Valid pharmacist license/registration as required by local regulations.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmacy operations, preferably in a hospital or retail setting.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacy law, and healthcare systems.
