About the Opportunity

Join a coordinated care team that partners with community-based providers and clinics to help people with complex health conditions receive the right medications and follow their treatment plans. This role offers the opportunity to lead a moderate- to low-volume compounding pharmacy while delivering highly personalized medication management and patient care.

As Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will combine clinical and operational oversight with servant leadership, active team advocacy, and high emotional intelligence. You will supervise three pharmacy technicians, maintain regulatory compliance, support strong clinic relationships, and ensure safe, timely, and efficient pharmacy operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge and ensure compliance with Texas Board of Pharmacy, DEA, federal, and state requirements.
  • Oversee non-sterile compounding, dispensing, prescription processing, compliance packaging, controlled substance records, and inventory controls.
  • Lead, coach, and develop three pharmacy technicians; oversee scheduling, payroll, time off, training, credentials, and performance feedback.
  • Provide exceptional service and medication consultation to patients, providers, and clinic staff in both English and Spanish.
  • Build strong working relationships with medical directors, providers, case staff, pharmacists, and community partners.
  • Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions and resolve insurance or prior authorization issues.
  • Manage rejected claims, gross margin analysis, accounts payable, financial performance, and operational reporting.
  • Support business growth through community partnerships, new account development, monthly marketing events, and quarterly lunch-and-learn programs.
  • Administer vaccines and point-of-care testing, as permitted and required.
  • Participate in clinic committees and staff meetings and ensure all team training is completed on time.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Active Texas pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Three years of non-sterile compounding experience and two years of pharmacy operations, pharmacist, or supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of prescription-filling requirements, insurance compliance, and applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations.
  • Bilingual

Preferred Credentials

  • Pharmacy management experience.
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certificate or equivalent.
  • Current bloodborne pathogen training and CPR certification.

Training may be provided for required certifications, as appropriate.

What Success Looks Like

You are a visible, hands-on leader who models excellent patient care, sound clinical judgment, operational discipline, and accountability. You advocate for your team, communicate with empathy, and create an environment where employees can learn, perform, and provide outstanding service.
