Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and customer-focused Pharmacy Assistant to support the daily operations of our pharmacy. The successful candidate will assist pharmacists with dispensing activities, inventory management, customer service, prescription handling, and maintaining a clean and well-organized pharmacy environment.

Job Description

• Assist the pharmacist with dispensing medications and processing prescriptions under appropriate supervision.
• Receive, sort, label, and arrange medicines and pharmaceutical products.
• Attend to customers and provide basic information on available products while referring clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Receive and process customer orders accurately.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory counts.
• Check product expiry dates and remove expired or damaged products according to pharmacy procedures.
• Assist with receiving and recording new stock from suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records of sales, stock movements, and prescriptions as required.
• Ensure medicines and other pharmacy products are stored appropriately.
• Keep the pharmacy premises, shelves, and work areas clean and organized.
• Assist with cash handling and point-of-sale transactions where required.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer and prescription information.
• Report stock shortages, damaged products, discrepancies, or other concerns to the pharmacist or supervisor.
• Follow pharmacy policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by the pharmacist or management.

Requirements/Skills

• Minimum of OND, or equivalent; a qualification in Pharmacy Technician studies or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, hospital, clinic, or healthcare retail environment is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medicines, pharmaceutical products, and pharmacy operations.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and inventory management skills.
• Basic computer and point-of-sale skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from the supervising pharmacist.

Pay: ₦90,000.00 per month
