**Summary:**To assist in the packaging, labeling, preparation, and delivery of pharmaceutical products under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and to provide technical support in all phases of drug distribution; assists with clerical and supply functions.  Although work is generally light, lifting cartons of 25 to 30 pounds is not unusual

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program (e.g., Pharmacy Technician Certification Board [PTCB] or National Healthcareer Association [NHA]).
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the New York State Board of Pharmacy preferred
• Previous training in unit dose systems and IV preparation is preferred.
• Ability to perceive differences in similarly named products.
• Finger dexterity and mechanical aptitude in operation and maintenance of unit dose machines and typing.
• Must be precise and accurate.
• Must be able to perform short cycle repetitive activities.
• Ability to occasionally lift heavy boxes (approximately 25-30 pounds).
• Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.

Education:

• High School diploma with math and science background.
