Pharmacy Technician

General Job Description:

• Performs the duties necessary to support the operation of the pharmacy.
• Performs clerical tasks, processes and tracks patient assistance applications to the drug manufacturers and maintains inventory of pharmacy supplies and serves as cashier.

Education and Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Healthcare background
• Clerical experience preferred.

Special Requirements:

• Speak and write Spanish and English.
• The clerk must study pharmacy regulations pertaining to job description.

Essential Job Functions:

• Maintains Pharmacy paperwork
• Prepares deposits daily
• Assist patients in applying for medication from drug manufacturers.
• Data entry into patient assistance and pharmacy management software.
• Track patient assistance medications through the entire process.
• Maintain inventory of pharmacy office supplies.
• Abides by EEO and QI policies established standards of Ben Archer Health Center.
• Works in a culturally sensitive and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
