Pharmacy Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmacy operations and patient care, with experience in various settings including Retail and acute care environments. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients while maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.

Duties

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Assist in the management of medication inventory, including ordering, restocking, and disposing of expired medications.
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications and health products.
• Conduct medication intake assessments and maintain accurate patient records.
• Utilize aseptic technique for IV infusion preparation, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans and medication administration processes.
• Stay informed about medical terminology, drug interactions, and pharmacy best practices to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in quality assurance activities to uphold the highest standards of pharmacy practice.

Skills

• Proven experience in Retail pharmacy or hospital settings is preferred.
• Critical care experience is an asset for managing complex patient needs.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and care.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
