Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately following prescriptions, including sterile IV admixture and compounding medications in accordance with aseptic techniques and sterile IV procedures.
• Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and maintain precise records of medication dispensing and patient information.
• Assist in medication administration processes, ensuring adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation standards, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering medication guidance, and maintaining patient confidentiality throughout all interactions.
• Support hospital or community pharmacy operations by handling intake procedures, processing prescriptions, and ensuring timely medication delivery.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacological medical terminology, medical terminology, and critical care protocols to support clinical pharmacy activities in acute care or hospital settings.
• Uphold safety standards by practicing proper drug regulation procedures, performing drug calculations accurately, and adhering to pharmaceutical safety protocols such as aseptic techniques and sterile compounding.

Qualifications

• Prior pharmacy technician experience required, especially within hospital, or community pharmacy environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation laws, and medical terminology required for accurate medication preparation and patient care.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is highly desirable; additional certifications related to pharmaceutical or healthcare practices are a plus.
• Experience with pharmacy software systems for data entry, inventory management, and prescription processing is essential.
• Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations, federal pharmacy laws, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards necessary for maintaining legal operation standards.
• Proven ability to perform IV compounding and sterile IV admixture procedures with aseptic technique in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting team collaboration in fast-paced environments such as hospital or community pharmacies.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
