Pharmacy Technician

We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician capable of performing a wide range of duties and able to function in a multifaceted role. Responsibilities include counting, packaging, and labeling medications and products to dispense to customers. In addition, this role will undertake other tasks under the direction of a pharmacist to provide excellent customer service. Since this role has high responsibility, and also high visibility, you must be customer-oriented, efficient, and reliable in order to keep pharmacy running smoothly. You must possess excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers.

Responsibilities

• Sterilize surfaces and equipment
• Receive prescriptions and check their validity
• Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
• Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims)
• Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions
• Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
• Comply with all security measures and quality standards
• Undertake various administrative tasks (e.g.record-keeping) and any other tasks that may be assigned

Qualifications

• Proven experience as pharmacy technician is a plus
• Registering with the State Board of Pharmacy is required
• Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
• Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Reliable with a keen eye for detail

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Pharmacy technician : 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Pharmacy Technician Registration Certificate for PA (Preferred)
