About the Position

Atlantic Drugs is looking for a dependable, energetic, and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team.

We are a community-focused independent pharmacy that values excellent customer service, efficiency, accuracy, and teamwork. We are seeking someone who takes initiative, works well independently, and is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a retail pharmacy environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong prescription processing and insurance billing experience, excellent communication skills, and a positive, patient-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Process new and refill prescriptions accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision.
• Enter prescription information, maintain patient profiles, and resolve insurance billing rejections.
• Communicate with prescribers regarding refill requests, prescription clarifications, and other matters within the technician's permitted scope.
• Assist with prescription filling, labeling, packaging, and preparation in accordance with California pharmacy regulations.
• Handle prescription pickup transactions and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, returns, and expiration-date checks.
• Assist with prior authorization coordination and insurance-related issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pharmacy workspace.
• Support daily pharmacy operations and collaborate with the pharmacist to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
• Previous retail pharmacy experience.
• Strong knowledge of brand and generic medications.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to excellent customer service.

Preferred:

• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Familiarity with Medi-Cal, Medicare Part D, and commercial insurance plans.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining within the technician's scope of practice.
