Duties

• Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile IV infusion and aseptic technique procedures, ensuring adherence to hospital and pharmacy standards.
• Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient information.
• Compound medications and sterile IV admixtures following strict pharmaceutical regulations and safety protocols.
• Support patient service activities by answering medication inquiries, verifying prescriptions, and providing clear guidance on medication usage.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and pharmaceutical regulatory standards at all times.
• Maintain patient confidentiality while handling sensitive medical information during intake and medication administration processes.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals in acute care or hospital pharmacy settings to optimize medication therapy and support clinical decisions.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician with LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, clinical pharmacy, or hospital pharmacy backgrounds preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacological terminology, and pharmaceutical calculations necessary for accurate medication preparation.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for data entry, inventory management, and prescription processing.
• Skilled in IV compounding, sterile technique, aseptic procedures, and sterile IV admixture procedures to ensure safe medication delivery.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and effective communication within healthcare teams.
• Knowledge of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation laws, and pharmacy laws essential for maintaining compliance.
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all safety protocols during medication handling.
