Pharmacy Technician

Ethos Veterinary Compounding Pharmacy located in Woburn, Massachusetts, is located in a busy veterinary hospital. We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician (certified preferred but not required) to join a skilled team of healthcare professionals to ensure animals have access to customized medications. This person needs to be detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Pharmacy Technician Data Entry and customer service

• Facilitate with accurate and timely prescription data entry and billing.

• Processing refills and new prescriptions in pharmacy software and The Compounder- PK Software.

-Requesting/accepting prescription refills.

• Retrieving emails, faxes, and voicemails for prescriptions.

• Process reports, access patient prescription profiles in pharmacy software.

• Creating compounded medication logs into pharmacy's software. - Able to perform calculations (such as: day supply, cost of prescription, etc.)

• Communication with pet owners on the prescription process and answering questions (relaying to pharmacists when needed).

• Bringing prescriptions to the client at the pick up area.

• Delivering in-patient prescriptions to the ICU/ER department and logging them into the prescription log books.

• Assist in shipping role (creating shipping labels, packaging, and printing shipping reports.

• Help keep track of medication stock inventory. Adding in new/received inventory/supplies into pharmacy's software.

• Following any applicable USP <795> and <800> regulations.

Qualifications:

• Punctuality and reliability are a must
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Registered by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy
• Current CPhT license preferred, but not required
• 1 year experience in non-sterile compounding and working knowledge of USP 795 regulations, preferred, but not required
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• Physical demands: walk, stand, sit, reach with arms and hands, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment

Job Type: Monday-Friday - 1 -2 Saturdays per month
