Pharmacy Technician

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and Spanish-speaking Part-Time Pharmacy Technician to join our retail pharmacy team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of prescription processing, retail inventory management, and patient communication to ensure the highest standards of pharmacy operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prescription Processing & Dispensing: Assist pharmacists in receiving, entering, preparing, and dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently in accordance with state and federal laws.

Patient & Customer Service: Provide warm, professional customer service at the pharmacy counter and drive-thru. Assist Spanish-speaking patients by accurately translating instructions, answering general inquiries, and facilitating pharmacist consultations.

Point of Sale (POS) & Billing: Process customer transactions at the register, handle cash/card payments, and assist with insurance adjudication, prior authorizations, and coverage queries.

Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, unpack orders, restock shelves, verify drug expiration dates, and assist in placing wholesale inventory orders to ensure necessary medications are available.

Maintain Cleanliness & Compliance: Keep the pharmacy workspace, compounding area, and retail counter clean, organized, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards.

Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with pharmacists, fellow technicians, and retail staff to ensure efficient workflow during peak store hours.

Requirements & Qualifications

Language Requirement: Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written) required to effectively communicate with our diverse patient population.

Certification: Active Pharmacy Technician or state registration as required by state regulations.

Retail Experience: Prior experience in a retail or community pharmacy setting is preferred.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with a customer-first mindset and a focus on compassionate patient service.

Detail-Oriented & Fast-Paced: Ability to multitask efficiently, handle high prescription volumes, and maintain high accuracy under pressure.

Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, or peak retail shifts as needed.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
