Your role can also include translating business problems into data and AI solutions and advising clients on their data and AI strategy and transformation. For example, you might:

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and domain experts to identify where data and AI create value, define success metrics, and align solutions with business goals.
• Support clients with technical decision-making, architectural trade-offs, and roadmap planning across data platforms, analytics capabilities, and AI adoption.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD degree in a MINT field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Engineering, or similar).
• Verbal and written fluency in English (no German skills required).
• 2–3 years of relevant industry experience in software engineering, data engineering, machine learning engineering, or a closely related field. Research collaborations with industry partners and applied research projects count toward this experience.
• Strong programming skills in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, TypeScript, Go, or C#), with a focus on writing clean, tested, and maintainable code, and solid computer science fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: building backend services and APIs, designing and operating data pipelines (ETL/ELT, batch or streaming), or developing and deploying data-driven or ML/AI solutions into production.
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and modern development workflows, including code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Practical experience building and deploying solutions on at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, or StackIT), including managed services for compute, storage, or data processing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders in client-facing or delivery-focused teams, and to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
