Position: Bilingual Norwegian STEM Expert (PhD) — AI Safety

Type: Contract Compensation: $77–$81/hour Location: Remote Start Date: Immediate Role Responsibilities

• Write expert-level prompts in Norwegian across specialized scientific topics.
• Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Collaborate with AI research teams to improve model safety and handling of technical topics.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and enhance AI model performance.

Qualifications Must-Have

• PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
• Native or near-native fluency in Norwegian and business-level written English.
• Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques.
• Sound judgment around scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.

Preferred

• Based in Norway.
• Expertise in radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, or related fields.
• Demonstrated depth in a specific subfield like organic synthesis or molecular biology.
• Experience with chemical safety, biosafety, or hazardous-materials handling.
• Experience reviewing or grading technical content.
