Phlebotomist

The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe, accurate, and professional manner within a healthcare clinic environment. The role requires adherence to infection control standards, patient care protocols, and DHA regulations while ensuring patient comfort and accurate sample handling.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Technology
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Phlebotomist in the UAE healthcare sector (mandatory)
• Valid DHA license or eligibility
• Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and sample collection procedures
• Familiarity with infection control and safety standards
• Good understanding of patient identification and labeling protocols
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and patient-handling skills
• Professional appearance and ethical conduct

Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for laboratory testing
• Ensure correct patient identification and proper labeling of specimens
• Follow infection control, safety, and hygiene protocols at all times
• Handle, store, and transport samples according to laboratory standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area
• Reassure and assist patients during blood collection procedures
• Accurately document patient information and test requests
• Report any adverse reactions or incidents to the clinical supervisor
• Comply with DHA healthcare regulations and clinic policies

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in blood collection techniques
• Knowledge of laboratory sample handling procedures
• Basic computer skills for patient data entry and documentation
