Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and responsible Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood specimens safely and efficiently while maintaining patient comfort, specimen integrity, infection-control standards, and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and blood specimen collection according to established clinical procedures.
• Verify patient identification and specimen-labeling information before collection.
• Explain blood-collection procedures to patients and provide appropriate assistance.
• Select appropriate collection tubes and equipment according to test requirements.
• Handle, label, store, and transport specimens according to laboratory protocols.
• Maintain proper infection-prevention and control practices.
• Dispose of needles and other sharps safely in designated containers.
• Monitor patients for discomfort, dizziness, or other reactions during and after blood collection.
• Maintain accurate patient and specimen records.
• Ensure phlebotomy equipment and work areas are clean, organized, and adequately stocked.
• Report specimen-quality issues, collection difficulties, incidents, or equipment problems to the appropriate supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, laboratory professionals, doctors, and other healthcare staff.
• Follow workplace safety, confidentiality, quality-management, and healthcare procedures.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification or training in Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nursing, Healthcare, or a related discipline .
• Practical experience in venepuncture and blood specimen collection preferred.
• Knowledge of infection-control and standard precautions.
• Good patient-care and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately identify, label, and handle clinical specimens.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays where required by the employer.
• Candidates must satisfy applicable Singapore employment and work-pass requirements where relevant.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: SGD 4,000 per month
